CHARITY CHALLENGE GOLF DAY (FULL)
Wednesday 1 September 2010
Avondale Golf Course Avon Road Pymble
Run by Gary (Smokey) Dawson of Bullant Sports
"The whole point is to inspire people to care - to get up and do things." - Gary
2010 is the 4th year St. Edmund's has participated in Gary's wonderful fundraising golf days. We feel extremely lucky to be included, together with other charities, in his calendar. Unfortunately the day is booked out for 2010 but if you are interested in attending in 2011 please let Donna Turner know at turner@stedmunds.nsw.edu.au and you will be placed on the mail out list.
Our students also have the opportunity to join golfers on and off the course and get to know players and pros alike. For our three Eddie's championship golfers these days are most anticipated.
The Charity Challenge Golf Day have been designed so you can enjoy a day's golf whilst making a difference and helping us provide a better quality of life for people with disabilities. You will feel the tension and excitement of a real teams event tournament with the AGU qualified winners and second place getters on the day earning a spot in the Charity Challenge Final in November 2010.
To bring the whole year to a close a fabulous Charity Challenge Dinner will be held on Saturday 20 November 2010.
Avondale Golf Club is located in a quiet, secluded part of the Upper North Shore of Sydney. Although within walking distance of Pymble railway station, there are no roads on the boundaries, few houses are visible from the course, and only a distant view of Macquarie University betrays its position in the outer suburbs of the city. Shorter than most championship courses, trees play a big part here and accuracy is essential. The layout starts innocently enough but gradually builds up into a toughness that makes even the finest golfer think clearly and positively. Play anywhere close to your handicap at this beautiful course and you'll drive away from the spic-n-span white clubhouse a very happy player.
