Hearing Support at Eddie's

At St Edmund's College students who have a hearing impairment are fully integrated into all areas of school life. Teachers are supported to use specific teaching techniques and visual aids across the curriculum. Where applicable radio frequency aids are used in conjunction with hearing aids and cochlear implants to ensure that these students have complete access to all parts of the curriculum. Teachers are encouraged to provide additional language support in class and these activities are sent home to be used for pre-teaching, revision and discussion. Much emphasis is placed upon collaborative planning for these students.
