All students at St Edmund's participate in weekly Sport lessons, run by our sport-qualified Teacher, in the school's range of sporting facilities, as well as in external facilities. The overall aim of the program is to improve and develop skills in the following areas:

  • Team work
  • Community access
  • An understanding of the workings of different organisations and sports, for example at a local gym where they learn how to register and how to correctly use a range of gym equipment and the gym facilities.

Junior Sport runs on Wednesday afternoons and Senior Sport on Thursday afternoons. Students participate in a range of activities which change each term. These may include, but are not restricted to, Team Games, Swimming, Athletics, Ten-Pin Bowling, Putt-Putt, Indoor Soccer, Hockey, Cricket, Tennis or Surfing (run by an external specialised Surf-School).

St Edmund's also runs an annual program of sports carnivals including an Athletics Carnival, Swimming Carnival, Indoor Soccer Carnival and Jump Rope for Heart. Some students also compete in Metropolitan Swimming and Athletics Carnivals, with some taking home the Regional and Overall winning School Carnival Trophies for both Carnivals.
